The release date of The Exiled is growing ever nearer, and our supply of teasers is rapidly dwindling. There are still plenty of new features to show off, but we would like to take a break from game mechanics to show off some art—and pass along praise to some of the game’s best players.

Pictured in the center of The Scope’s illustration are Pierre Malherbaud and Emilie Goldberg. Pierre took first place at both last year’s Gen Con and Fan Fest, earning the chance to be immortalized as a part of the EVE universe. Emilie took third place at Fan Fest, so when Pierre asked that she be in the illustration with him, we agreed.

It is only fitting that Pierre and Emilie, who both played rapid-deployment Gallente decks, be featured on a card that has the potential to not only speed the game up even more, but also to complicate most news cards with a duration. While The Scope will certainly help clear the board of the various Methods of Torture and make news with a countdown (Crime Pays, Bomb Threat, etc.) more reliable, it will do so at the expense of handicapping multi-turn boosts like Stubborn Mechanic.
