general play deck - 2007/01/27 10:31 well here goes,
this is a deck i play a lot with, as there are now 4 of us round here that play it,

home bases
liberty tower

starbase structures

sentry gun
market research lab
early warning
moon harvester
legal dept
vipers nest

locations

sanshas outpost x1
gneiss x1
plagioclase x2
hemorphite x2
veldspar x4
interstellar trade post x2

news

adasters disaster x4
remnant of vakatioth x3
impending doom x2
armageddon project x3
guerilla warfare x3

ships

probe x4
cyclone x1
thrasher x1
stabber x1
slasher x3
celestis x1
rifter x4
atron x4

i know theres lots of talk on breacher but to me why sacrifice a ship and lose it for 2 attack when you could keep a 2 attack ship with a greater shield.
this may not be a tourny deck, but it plays very well with our group(to be honest it dosent loose that often).
we play more strategy than tourny quick wins.

Re:general play deck - 2007/01/31 13:41 Breacher is more for the quick clear a path or hurt an opposing starbase. It is certainly not a defensive ship.

Looking at your locations I wonder why you have chosen those particular ones. I see little point in just having 1 Sasha's outpost. The odds of pulling it is remote and there are better 1 ISK locations you could be playing like City of God or another Hemorphite.

How does the deck tend to win against opponents? Is it pulling enough locations and ships regularly in the games you play. If you are winning most of them look at the ones you don't and see if there is a common reason.

Re:general play deck - 2007/01/31 14:21 sanshas scout outpost is a 2 isk production, and really is just another home location to add to the others in case you cant get out an outer region, for some reason, as i dont like to have to return a isk producing card thats why theres only the one, sort of a back up to the veldspars etc, if it comes out late in the game when your getting more isk it can stay out, if it comes out early, then a lot of the time you can take the isk and have to sacrifice it later.
i tend to get out outer regions quite quick and defend them well,
allowing me to slow a quick player down, while i build isk and forces.
it seems city of god is just paying to keep your ships there.
i sometimes run bigger cost ships as well so i find i do get a good income to get them out.

Re:general play deck - 2007/02/01 10:23 City of God is for playing on opponents outer regions to drain them of ISK (they have to earmark 3 ISK to keep a region). It's not a card they like to see in play I have found, especially early in the game. If the deck is performing as you say and, more importantly, your happy with it I would leave it as it is and wait for the next expansion to see if it could be improved with the cards in that. We shall seed the stars with our scions and reap that harvest.

Re:general play deck - 2007/02/02 10:02 No problem. Strange to hear you don't have any City of God's as it's just an uncommon. They are worth asking other people for as they can be damn annoying. We shall seed the stars with our scions and reap that harvest.
