Kill kill kill! Play hard, play fast, die with your boots on! *grin*
I'll encourage Noel to reply with a bit more commentary. The basic rule of this deck though was, whatever you do, do it FAST.-Ryuteki, Owner of the Rules! We're playing Monday evenings in IL, see www.games-plus.com for the address or email me at ryuteki AT gmail DOT com.

Re:1st Place Green Bay, WI Qualifier - 2007/04/23 07:26Basically 8-10 ISK worth of almost any combination of my ships and War Tatoos should give me enough attack power to slam at their starbase on turn 4 with enough ISK left over to either direct damage remove whatever ship they put out to get in my way or martial law in order to force through verses whatever news they had up thier sleeve. If the game goes longer then that the Scythes do consistant ship removal, and the Sanshas Nation gets me recurssion on the news cards I use (usually more ship removal) while I use my ambush to keep them off my starbase and deny them outer region income till I get enough to outgun them at their starbase. Amar stall decks will tend to slow me down and can regularily end a game by going to time depending on how "fast" their stall tactics are, especially if I only get a so-so draw. Mind Controls get sideboarded in vs decks using a lot of thier own ship destruction news and/or annoying Hired enforcers tricks. The big ships get cycled in vs slower stall decks where I'll need to outgun them and the Bursts and Vicious Cycles come in vs other Rush decks where I need early starbase defense. The deck runs perfectly fine on 5-6ISK per turn as that tends to be two cards playable per turn, and if it gets the really sweet tourist resort or insurance fraud income insanity it tends to either start giving up income for more cards per turn or hold on to it for really big Remnants of Vak’atioth.
But yes, it was definately a fun time and I'm looking forward GenCon.

Re:1st Place Green Bay, WI Qualifier - 2007/04/23 10:55Thanks Skya. That's a real good synopsis of the deck. I can see why it won. You're analysis of what makes Minmater work is excellent and you've sideboarded well for adapting to opponents decks. Hope you do well at GenCon and have a lot of fun.We shall seed the stars with our scions and reap that harvest.

Re:1st Place Green Bay, WI Qualifier - 2007/04/23 11:21This is the kind of deck that makes me run Griffins. Of all the ambush frigates it's the hardest to get rid of with direct damage (5 shields) so it stands a good chance of trading off with two attackers.
Are you trying to grab Khanid Kingdom early to stop your opponent setting ambush or are you saving the isk for ships and going straight for the kill?

Depends on my hand and what they've started assembly on. Mostly though it's straight for the kill esspecially if I've gone first and have the jump on them when it comes to assembling ships first. If I've gone second and the initial rush doesnt look like it will be quite enough Khanid Kingodom is likely to matter more. It just happens to be cheap (yay tourist resorts) and synergizes well by being a bit more board control if I need it. Generally my way of dealing with ambushers is either to toss an extra ship in to eat the ambush or direct damage it out of existance.
