Caldari V1.0 - 2007/02/16 18:59 I was hoping to get some input on a deck I've put together.

Re:Caldari V1.0 - 2007/02/21 18:13 It looks unfocused to me, but then, perhaps I do not get the strategy. Given that, my observations follow:

1) The income curve looks lacking. Even with four Advanced Shipyards, four Veldspars and four Hedbergites doth not an economy make. Hedbergites don't really count for income, as it takes three turns to pay them off, and Mineral 1 is nothing.

2) Why bother with Dam Torstad when you have so few locations? Why not Society of Conscious Thought for draws, at the very least?

3) Bomb Threat has always struck me as weak and slow.

4) Badger Mark II and no Badgers?

5) Is Superior Iteron really worth it? It takes two turns to pay off, and income here seems tight enough that saving 10 ISK and then waiting 3 turns to make a profit seems too slow to me.

6) Nice big ships, but are you really going to survive the early game? Are you really relying on Cathedral not to lose?

7) You must be playing Bantam just for the card draw, as you've practically nothing to mine. I think Kestrel might be a more survivable choice.

My advice is make a cheap frigate rush deck out of commons, and use that to test your real decks against. If your deck can't withstand a four frigate rush by turn 5, it's time to go back to the drawing board.
