Re:3rd Place Woodbridge, VA Qualifier - 2007/04/19 01:51An excellent deck, run by an excellent opponent. Those Central Fleet Commands are one of the real power-points of the deck.
That said, I notice a few card choices I don't understand. First and formost is Gneiss- I can't understand what you get out of this card that you don't get out of Scordite and other home-region locations.
The second is a full four Mind Clashes, maindeck- do you really run into that many starbase structures that trip you up badly enough to cut into ship slots? It's a perfect sideboard card, in my opinion, but not something I'd maindeck without some other trick to pull with it.
I'd personally drop Griffons for Merlins (more attack power- remember it was a Merlin that got me) and Omen for Blackbirds (more compatable with Central Fleet Command). Same for Coercers for Cormorants- both Frigate-smashers, but one gets Central Fleet bonuses and the other doesn't. Thrasher rocks, though.
Why the sentry guns? Too many really, really early Minmatar Rush Decks?
Finally- Consider maindecking Mind Control (3 or 4) and sidedecking every Bad News you can get your hands on. As I'm sure you've noticed, the right News at the right time can really ruin your day.
Of course, all of the above is just random commentary. The deck itself was strong indeed, and I'm certainly going to watch out for Sudden Offensive Bantams from now on!

Both are tough to kill but the Omen can take out Destroyers single handed whilst the Blackbird is one attack short. There's an arguement for running some of each so that you still get the warp scramble but that depends upon how much use outer regions are getting in your area.
Got to love those Condors, tough little ships.

Re:3rd Place Woodbridge, VA Qualifier - 2007/04/19 17:53just a little input. Overall the deck looks nice. However, if I was to run 4x Central Fleet Command i would make sure "all" my ships would qualify for the benefit. I would also run Precognition Tower...I hate giving a benefit to my opponent. Just some thoughts.Blatherskite Caldari Propagandist

Ya, there was definatly a lot of tweaking I could have done, but I have a fairly limited card set (that's why I didn't stack up on cormorants for example) and put it together on pretty short notice. On retrospect, I would have shuffled some of my ship selection around, mostly very similar to the comments you guys made.
As for the list comments, I didn't have any Mind Clashes, maybe either a typo by me or Zack, I had 4 Mind Controls in the maindeck. The sentry guns were in response to the massive fear of Minnie Rush decks, in the few tests I ran I continuelly got beat hard on by those.
*cough cough EA Mythic man, come on we got bought!*
