Serpentis drug outlet - 2007/10/18 03:01My question about this card is; Can you use the ability "At the Beginning of battle, you may search your opponent's unplayed outer regions and put one into play for free." when ever a battle starts in any region regardless of the Serpentis drug outlets controlling region?
I would asume yes if played as the card states.
other examples...
Example #1 (1v1)
I have a Serpentis drug outlet in my home region and an opponent attacks one of my outer regions, can i then use the ability?
Example #2 (ffa)
I have a Serpentis drug outlet in my home region and an opponent attacks another of my opponents regions, can i then use the ability?
Within my gaming group we have made certain rules around some of the new cards and there abilitys, this one in particular we have decided that it's ability is only activated when an opponent attacks the region it belongs to, however I would still like some opinions on this card and perhaps some clarification from an admin.

I think Ryuteki says something about it must be in the region the battle is occurring in, and I'm not sure if anyone disputed that.
It's not official, I don't believe the official rules boys have completely sorted this card out yet, there's been a lot of debate on here about this card in several threads for several separate reasons. They probably want to wait and see what we make of this card before making things overly complex.
oh and welcome to the forums

It's not official...
*blink* A ruling directly from the designer of the game (Petur) during the World Championship Tournament on how it works is close enough to official for my blood. Your mileage may vary.-Ryuteki, Owner of the Rules! We're playing Monday evenings in IL, see www.games-plus.com for the address or email me at ryuteki AT gmail DOT com.

Re:Serpentis drug outlet - 2007/10/22 00:29Didn't re-read the post, so I didn't really notice who it came from.
Also I'd have to say, it's one thing for them to tell people at some event, it's a completely different thing to actually post it to the FAQ or in a revised rulebook. How official can something be if it's not in print, it is completely possible he will rule differently at a different tournament.
Not saying he will or disputing the rule in any way here, just the fact that it should be published by CCP/WW if it is truly official.

I completely agree. It is highly unprofessional for CCP to assume that everyone would now about a ruling made in a tournament (even a high profile one). It has to be put in the rules and announced so that everyone knows. We shall seed the stars with our scions and reap that harvest.
