GenCon UK - Exiled Sealed - Results - 2007/09/04 18:30Although the unpredictablity of the release date and the reliability of the shipping for Exiled made it very difficult to plan for an official release event at GenCon UK, we nevertheless put up some posters and tried to raise a bit of interest once we got on site.
We announced an Exiled sealed deck tournament for the Sunday at 12pm and pulled 8 players in the end, which was apparently more then many other games (including Vs.) although two guys skipped out after the first round for another game elsewhere.
Everyone enjoyed seeing the new cards for the first time, but this also meant putting decks together took more than a few mins! I'll leave it to any participating players who might be reading this to describe their games and decks, but after three rounds the final scores were:
Garath Arnold - W/W/W - 1st Bruce Mason - D/W/L - 2nd Lee Marshall - D/L/W - 3rd Nigel Robinson - L/W/D - 4th Neil Palframan - W/L/L - 5th Joe Elledge - D/L/D - 6th Jason Handy - D/-/- - 7th John Platt - L/-/- - 8th
(Sorry guys for not getting your forum handles too).
Prizes included Exiled starter decks, boosters and some foils from the base set. Thanks to White Wolf and Esdevium Games for helping to make it happen.

Re:GenCon UK - Exiled Sealed - Results - 2007/09/08 10:18Oh, and I forgot to mention we won the GenCon gaming quiz by half a point too (which won us a free round of beer for our game of The Great Dalmuti).

Using the cards from exiled competively was really quite fun. I ended up playing Gallente and found that while they had some power later on they were a little slow to get going, causing me to lose to both Caldari and Amarr.
Out of the cards we saw it seems Amarr got a massive defensive boost as in one game I was getting no where near his 15 shield base(in sealed). The new rules ahve definately slowed the pace of the game and it makes it all the more vital and tactically challenging to be going for outer regions now.
Personally I think this set is really going to help the state of the game and make it a lot more tactical.

Re:GenCon UK - Exiled Sealed - Results - 2007/09/11 09:41I've got constructed decks for each race and 3 out of the 4 are using outer regions tactically. Two are using the regions as a key part of (different) income engines whilst the third is set up for the new tower.
Prior to Exiled it'd have been 1 (maybe 2). The increase has made things a lot more interesting.
