His deck was minmitar, as were all but one (caldari) of the decks that won at gen con.
...at least that's what I remember him telling me.

Re:Gencon Tourney Decks - 2006/10/31 13:17Since people are baying for it like madmen, I guess you'd best post your deck then
To be honest though, as I've said before, there's not an awful lot to learn from it. 40 card decks, built from extremely limited card pools, aren't really representative of a true tournament environment. As is evidenced by the fact Minmatar dominated; when you don't have to include ships like the Wreath to have enough Kamikaze ships to win, Kamikaze/Blitz decks *should* win most of the time

Re:Gencon Tourney Decks - 2006/10/31 14:47Amusingly, I never faced one that managed to work. I was the last Gallante, and I lost in the round of 16 to my own stupid mistake - I was getting tired and forgot to draw, and my opponent wouldn't let me go back and draw. This put my Hedbergite exactly one turn too late to prevent the massacre, and my Hired Mercenaries exactly one turn too late to try to turn a loss into a possible win again.
To add insult to injury, I later found out that in Eve CCG, you are literally not ALLOWED to forget to draw, which is different than the floor rules in many other CCGs. I therefore like to say I was in the Top 9...-Ryuteki, Owner of the Rules! We're playing Monday evenings in IL, see www.games-plus.com for the address or email me at ryuteki AT gmail DOT com.

Re:Gencon Tourney Decks - 2006/10/31 15:04In most CCGs you should be forced to go back and draw, as it's not compulsory. In Magic or other games, depending on the seriousness of the tourney, you may well get a warning for doing it, though.

Atleast now you know that not drawing isn't allowed.
Personally I think it makes total sense, because 'forgetting' to draw could be used by someone to force their opponent to deck out first.
I'd say to ask a judge or offical next time, but something like that wouldn't jump into my head to question either really.

Indeed. Especially considering that it was 10pm, 4 hours later than the the noon to 6 tourney was slated to run, for which I'd stayed up until 3am building a deck for a game I'd only learned the day before. I'm pretty happy with my results honestly, I just KNOW I could have done better, guaranteed.
