First Deck - 2006/11/17 23:35Ok, I'm only working with the starter decks & a few boosters, so I don't have unlimited cards like some of you. It has not yet been played, I'm hoping to get a game in a week or two.
Control Tower (Undecided, but probably Frailty) Heaven Sansha's Nation Khanid Kingdom
As I've already said, I'm working from a limited base, I'll be getting more cards over time.

Re:First Deck - 2006/11/18 01:08It's a nice start. I understand your card selection is limited, so as you get mor cards I would advise you try to give the deck a focus to concentrate on. Just now it is very general with a little splash of everything. I personally love using Heaven and Sanshas Nation too, especially when all yuo paly are damage news which you pick up again.
Adastars Disaster is a great card, I'd always reccomend packing 4 if possible. Gravity Storm is a bit expensive, so I would maybe drop one to allow other cards to take dominance. Try and narrow your ships down alter to maybe half a dozen different ones that work well and pack four of each, maybe less of the more expensive ones.
I've never liked Sentry Guns, so I would tend to drop them for Starbase Structures with income/shields or abilities.
Once you have more locations, trying to work an efficient isk production is important. I tend to go towards 4 Sanshas Outposts, 4 Veldspars and 2 others. Plagioclase is a common one for big income.
Impending Doom is okay, but it needs a few more ships with Assembly 2+ to justify it. All it works with just now is your Rupture unless you want to pay 4 isk to get a frigate out right away, which has never been a favourite of mine. Maybe try to find another Rupture and maybe some Stabbers or Cyclones to help there.
It could slowly grow into a nice robust military dck using a streak of Damaging News cards to help control the enemies ships and turn battles. With that in mind Remnant of Vak'Atioth is a good ship killer and worth aquiring and using at least 2 of them. Even if it does let opponent draw 2 cards, it maintains ship control in your favour.
Martial law may also be worth a look. As most of the News cards that can REALLY swing combat (whether by removing a ship or boosting your shields) can NOT be used by Minmatar, it means you can prep your atack, plat the card and attack knowing your opponent can NOT play anyhting from hand to inconveniance you while you can still play damaging cards from hand.
Anyways, these are just my thoughts and ideas. You have a nice start, with several avenues it can go down. From here I reccomend expanding the card pool and seeing where it takes you. But you need to focus the deck on a specific task t stand the best chance.

Re:First Deck - 2006/11/18 02:18All good comments from Civi, and I agree it's a good start to a deck.
As to ships, I'd suggest dropping the Reapers and focusing up your frigates as much as your card pool will allow. Drop the Bellicoses too. Replacements from these can come in the form of Atrons or Kestrels and Griffons from Gallente and Caldari, while you dont have 4 of the appropriate Minmatar ships.
I'd also drop the Impending Dooms asap, and replace them with something else that you like. Martial Law as suggested or more copies of any of your other news would be good. I'd also drop the Gravity Storms, as they're expensive and very narrow in their use. If you want to try some controll-y style cards to replace them, try Slavedog Stowaways or Armageddon Project. Day of Retribution wouldn't hurt either.
Drop the Crumbling Moons for something more efficient. Interstellar Trade Post is your next best option after Sanshas and Beld.
I'd also drop the sentry guns. They dont have to go for other structures, but if you want a good solid basic structure, try something like Market Research Lab.
Finally, you only have 50 cards in your deck so there's room for 2 more there, too.

Re:First Deck - 2006/11/18 06:33Darn, there are 52 cards, I must have missed one, a quick count suggests it's 2 news cards missing, my biggest problem was a total lack of useable news cards.
Being a fredom fighter for the Ushra'khan I'm all for lots of small fast ships & damage
I will look at some revisions when I get home.
[edit] ok extra 2 cards were added
