Flavor Text - 2006/11/20 18:22I'm sure we all can appreciate the entertainment of the flavor text. So I want to know what flavor text on the cards is your favorite.
Me, I think the Pyroxeres is the single funniest thing I've ever seen printed as a bit of flavor text. Reminds me of some of the things I've seen on Warp Drive Active and omgrawr.net, really.

It's even funnier when you know who Adaster is, too

Re:Flavor Text - 2006/11/20 23:12TBH, I really feel there is not enough flavour text in EVE. Only a couple pieces come to mind, and they've pretty much been covered. We need much more flavour text. Whether hisorical, contempory, serious or down right amusing. It add's more character to each card and makes it more enjoyable on a seperate level. A card you can laugh at is just cooler!

Re:Flavor Text - 2006/11/21 00:46Absolutely. Maybe we can come up with flavor text to offer them at CCP for cards in the Core Set that get reprinted in later sets?

Re:Flavor Text - 2006/11/21 03:48For overall effect, I like Veteran's Premature Retirement the most. The picture and flavor text together is just really cool.

Re:Flavor Text - 2006/11/21 14:12I donīt remember which card it is - but i wholeheartedly laughed when reading:
"All your base are belong to us"
in eve-history this was one of the first war declarations on the Forums - iirc

All your base are belong to us - 2006/11/22 13:07"The text is taken from the opening cut scene of the English version of the 1989 Japanese video game Zero Wing by Toaplan. The phrase first made its appearance on the Internet in 1998 when an animated gif of the opening scene to the game was posted. While the translation was generally poor, this phrase stood out as particularly humorous." - Wikipedia-Ryuteki, Owner of the Rules! Re:Flavor Text - 2006/11/22 17:13The game was poorly translated, according to what I know, because the developers of Wing Zero didn't want native English-speakers to horribly mutilate their language (a phenomenon which should be familiar to anyone who watches anime with both the subtitles and the dubbed voices).
So they did it themselves, and made their game a classic joke.
