So, on turn 1 you play Veldespar, and on turn 2 you play Sansha's Nation and Hoarder. This will bring in 7ISK on your third turn, which should enough to play what ever you need to.
Does anyone have any ideas for getting income flowing?

Re:Mining or Trade ? - 2006/12/21 16:53Zack can be awfully cruel at times, the 7 isk on turn 3 is about as much as any sane deck can expect.
5 isk seems to be the magic number for a bunch of different income earning schemes. There are three main ways to get your 5 isk:
1) By playing either Veldspar (as you suggested) or Sansha's Scout Outpost on turn 1.
2) Play Forbidden Paradise first turn giving you 5 to spend right away. The downside is that you're giving your opponent 3 isk too.
3) The final option is pritty much Caldari only. They can get sublet station into play turn 1 about 90% of the time (with Emperor's Decree or Black Market for Emperor's Decree). The problem with this approach is that Sublet Station has to be the only location in your deck and there isn't a good Caldari trading ship to follow it up with.
The thread Zack pointed you to has a few alternatives on what to spend your 5 isk on but most of them require an awful lot of cards and aren't very efficient.
The Hoarder plan isn't bad (4 shields is a good number) but is a little slow for my tastes. I might try it with Forbidden Paradise.

Re:Mining or Trade ? - 2006/12/21 23:00Dude, that Caldari idea is nice. I'd go with it and use Gunn-Gap. Add in a Scordite so that you can sacrifice your Sublet when you don't need it anymore. Then play your discarded Sublet into Gunn-Gap.

Re:Mining or Trade ? - 2006/12/22 09:52The problem with adding the scordite is that there's a good chance you'll hit it with the Emperor's Royal decree and not get your sublet.
The only way to make it consistant is to not run any other locations and that stops you doing anything too abusive
Sublet itself costs 3, so you can't play it naturally until turn 2 and that's definitely too slow for my liking.
Keep hammering away and you're sure to find something nutty good...
