Turn two kill - 2007/01/15 23:32This isn't so much a deck list as it is a challenge.
Can anyone else think of a way to kill a player faster than this?
Turn 1: Play Forgottten Paradise, Slasher, Pyroxeres, Velator (or any 1-ISK miner) (3 cards left in hand, 2 ISK in bank) Turn 2: Play Martial Law, Forgotten Paradise, Breacher, Breacher. Warp to enemy home region, Kamikaze both breachers for 4 damage, Slasher deals 3 for 7 total. (0 cards left in hand, 1 ISK in bank)
The Martial Law seals the win, but isn't %100 necessary. Without it, you can leave off the Pyro and the mini-miner on first turn. If you go first with this hand I can't imagine there being alot your opponent could do to you. Most starbase structures would be bad new due to the extra shield the likely give, or the ability to disrupt the attack.
Has anyone else thought of any other wacky "quick kill" scenarios?

Re:Turn two kill - 2007/01/16 02:29? How can you do this? Turn one you collect 2 isk, slasher costs 3, Velator 1, you don't have enough isk for turn 1, let alone turn 2

Re:Turn two kill - 2007/01/16 13:29This is all assuming they don't play like, their own breacher, or if you don't go first, they could have enough to drop in something like a Scythe and pop your slasher by reassembling.

Re:Turn two kill - 2007/01/16 14:58I'm impressed if you have managed to pull it off. I doubt that there is any quicker way of winning. A turn 1 kill would just be wrong for this game (it's no fun for either side as I have been there and had it done to me/been done by me).We shall seed the stars with our scions and reap that harvest.

Re:Turn two kill - 2007/01/16 22:44I've been there myself, as a recipient of some beatdowns in Magic: The Gathering.
I don't want to see this becoming anything close to common place. I'm just curious as to whether anyone else can think of another combo to do the same thing.
Also, if I've gone first, a Scythe can't stop me on my second turn. Remember that you cannot hasten it's production, and that you'd need to play a forgotten paradise of your own (or SCE/Scordite) to afford the 7 cost Scythe. Either way, it can't be a factor.
There are a few other ways around it. Any starbase structure that adds shields stops this cold. So does an Ibis or Reaper (if the Reaper is set to ambush).
I've actually been quite glad to see that it's so hard to pull of a ninja kill like this. True rush kills don't start becoming viable until the 4th turn or so.
