"Orange Guy" 2-starter anti-region build - 2007/01/20 17:46 I gave my friend a copy of both starters, and this is what he came up with. It is has done quite well in informal play.

Dominion Tower, Ginnungagap, Sansha's Nation, Serpentis Prime.
Locations:

Remote Research Facility - 1
Pyroxes - 3
Veldspar - 4
Tourist Resort - 2
Crumbling Moon - 2
Echoes of Gloom Bay - 1
Omber - 1
Scordite - 1

Total: 15

Mining Ships:
Imicus - 2
Velator - 2
Tormentor - 1

Total: 5

Fleet: (perhaps the most card-limited portion of the deck)
Atron - 2
Incursus - 2
Malus - 2
Inquisitor - 1
Tristan - 2
Coercer - 1
Oneiros - 1
Celestis - 1
Catalyst - 1
Exequror - 1
Cormorant - 1

Total: 15

Structures: (Unsure about keeping any of these, but they seem useful for long or short run opponents)

Labor Quarters - 1
Sentry Gun - 1
Warp Disruption Field - 1
Center of Astrogeology - 1
Legal Department - 1

Total: 5

News:

Stubborn Mechanic - 2
By the emperor's Decree - 1
Forsaken Ruins - 1
Damage Control - 1
Lost Deliveries - 1
Armagaeddon Project - 2
Hired Enforcers - 1
Mindclash - 1
Veteran's Premature Retirement - 2

Total: 12

Deck Size: 52 Cards

I think the biggest limitations on my deck are felt in the locations (I would prefer to go 4 Veldspar, 4 Tourist Resort, 1 Remote Research Facility, 3 Pyroxes, and 3 more, which for lack of something better would be Crumbling Moons, I suppose); and on the Ships (If I could replace my Incursus and Inquisitor with Coercers, I would totally do that).

From the standpoint of News, I think that Emperor's Decree is somewhat weak for this deck, and I'd rather have a Stubborn Mechanic or another Limited Location.
It works surprisingly well, and is the inspiration for my generic benchmark deck.

Re:"Orange Guy" 2-starter anti-region build - 2007/01/20 18:09 Based on play against this deck, I made my own version as follows:

Dominion Tower, Sansha's Nation, Ginnungagap, Cloud Ring

16 x Locations:
2 x Veldspar
3 x Pyroxeres
4 x Tourist Resort
2 x Sansha's Scout Outpost
1 x Scordite
3 x Crumbling Moons
1 x Hedbergite

4 x Starbase Structures:
1 x Advanced Shipyard
1 x Market Research Lab
2 x Central Fleet Command

19 x Ships:
2 x Velator
1 x Imicus
4 x Tormentor
4 x Tristan
3 x Oneiros
4 x Augoror
1 x Comorant

13 x News:
2 x By The Emperor's Decree
1 x Day of Retribution
1 x Damage Control
2 x Forsaken Ruins
2 x Armageddon Project
1 x Hired Enforcers
3 x Veteran's Premature Retirement
1 x Trial of Expidition

I know it needs a lot of tuning, but it has done me well so far. The basic idea is to avoid outer regions entirely, get to 5 income quickly, and to shove ships down the enemy's throat early.

I am working on a much tighter Amarr version of this deck, which I will post after I test it some.

This is the inspiration for my reference deck.
