Suggestion: Online Video Demo - 2006/10/31 18:54Hey CCP! First off, congrats on the site! It looks great! I'm feeling nice and cozy already! I'd like to make a suggestion though. I think an online video demo of a game being played would be awesome!. It would not only show off the wonderful game but it would also help people learn faster! Now I know it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out this game (but it helps!) but I do think this could be yet another learning tool that can be used to get the game moving. So the guy who is up late night, mining away, and says,"What the hell, lets see what this game is all about." can download the demo and check it out as opposed to waiting for his hobby store to open up and find others to help him with any questions he might have. Though this website and the wonderful people that populate it will more than likely answer all types of questions, I think an online demo could answer loads of them quickly and efficiently. Just a thought.

Re:Suggestion: Online Video Demo - 2006/10/31 21:43An online demo that you can watch would be tricky, since it would have to likely be low quality to stream from the site effectively, and in low quality, it could be hard to see what is going on, and you'd be stuck more just listening to the voices, if any.

Re:Suggestion: Online Video Demo - 2006/11/01 00:18I don't know if an online video would be a good thing or not, but I would like to see some other people playing it. Considering that my fastest, most crushing game lasted an hour and ten minutes, I need to see how these things can actually be wrapped up in under 40

Re:Suggestion: Online Video Demo - 2006/11/01 00:33You can easily create a flash demo. You don't want live-feed video images of people playing the game... new players don't want to see gamers, they want to see cards. You would basically animate the cards in a flash video, zooming when appropriate, with either a voiceover or text to go along with them, and a series of Click to Continues. Rather like the intro computer for Eve Online, really.-Ryuteki, Owner of the Rules! Re:Suggestion: Online Video Demo - 2006/11/01 01:25Yeah, I have seen other games sites have flash demos and those are really good for learning the basics, showing off the eye candy, and solififying board postioning, stuff like that.
