Re:Liberty Tower, Cyclone, Discard - 2008/02/15 12:20As "Mr Wise" DTee said, it's a good fit in some strategies (as Angel Marauder too). In fact, if you have no enemy ships to target your Cyclone, it's a winning machine. OTOH, I admit that doing a such deck is not really easy at the moment. I guess new cards (next expansion ?) can boost new strategies for Minmatar like discard (easier with Caldari), outerregion interdiction (not 'fiable' enough right now), deckmilling (means huge military defence), etc...

If you've got access to the cards it's not too hard to build a Minmatar deck that trades cards for enemy ships. This often leaves you with one ubber ship against something small and I've met a few players who enjoy playing that kind of deck.
OTOH I've found putting a bit of effort into keeping your Stabbers alive (Specialisation rocks) more affective than trading them off and waiting for a big hitter.

Re:Liberty Tower, Cyclone, Discard - 2008/02/16 13:56I agree. Specialization is a very good card. Minmatar has much good ships to do ship-denial, with good direct damages in support. But, I'm still thinking Cyclone is uneasy to put in a deck. With Stabbers and/or Scythes and/or Marauders, it's quite expensive.

Re:Liberty Tower, Cyclone, Discard - 2008/02/18 11:07I've found the real advantage of the Cyclone is in it sucks in other ships to take it out. That can allow more damaging ships to get through. We shall seed the stars with our scions and reap that harvest.
