Gallente ship choice - 2007/02/22 18:14I've been trying to put together a Gallente deck recently, and I just can't find anything that works. The ship choice for Gallente seems very poor to me - of their own ships, only the Atron is a must-have, and the rest of the deck ends up with mostly Amarr and some Caldari ships. After a while I just think "Hey, why don't I just make an Amarr deck instead". Is this a reasonable thing to think? Do I just not get how Gallente should work? My main problem is the lack of ambush ships, which I think hurts a lot. Any comments welcome!

Re:Gallente ship choice - 2007/02/22 22:42I have found that Gallente are not about rush but staying power and income, with ships that have high def and resnable atk pow if u intend to build a Gallente deck then look at these forums for ideas, and see how other people build there decks..
But i have noticed that most will contain certain genaric ships
As these ships do (even if they dont admit it) will scare or make your oppanent think about there next move, but you will def want a gd income from your deck to help get alot of isk to build these..
If you do build a deck with any ships above assemble 2, either Lonetrek or labor quarters is a must IMO, to get the ships out alot faster and jumping your enemy before he can deal with the threatwww.gamers.uk.net/

I would agree that the Iterons are just too slow to develop. Not worth the ISK nor the time you would need to invest with. Your best bet with any Gallente deck is to mine.
That said, if your looking for quick ISK I find that the quickest way is stuffing a deck with high mine count locations (NOT limited) no matter their drawbacks (obviously, prepare for playing high count locations with drawbacks). Then pack in 4 each of a couple of good mining frigs that play well in outer regions (Navitas comes to mind). Navis are my personal fave as they are GREAT on def so keeping one in your home region to mine never hurts.
Tourney decks should NOT have industrials. They are far too slow to develop, and many tourney decks are turning out 6th turn or less wins. Stick with the frigs. My current tourney deck (under development) looks like this on ships:
