Re:My First Minmatar deck - 2007/03/09 16:24This is just my personal flare, so please don't get offended by my suggestions. You have some understanding of how the minmatar are supposed to work, clearly.
I'd swap out the 2x Exhausted for 2x more Adaster's Disaster. My main problem with Exhausted is that there aren't many other cards that go into an exhaust deck yet.
I'd Also swap the two Bloodsheds for 2x Day of Retribution or Remant of Vak'atoith. Bloodshed's only a really good card if you have 4 of them, as it get stronger with more in your scrapheap.
Your locations seem a bit scarce to me, with only 9. I play with a lot of locations (16) though, so that just my personal flavor. I'd change of the pyro (only good for mining) for something like Remote Research Facility or Forgotten Paradise (I love that card).
You may want to swap out a few of your starbase structures, like Investment Bank (hard to use) for more Sentry Guns or Construction Platforms.
I've always found Celestis to be too slow; you may want to try swapping for some Hoarders instead. Hoarders make a great 1st turn region grab if you happen to have it and a Forgotten Paradise. It has no assembly cost, and enough shields to take whatever beating your opponent may deal the first turn. + it gives you 3 extra income, making your second turn a +6 income, which is nice.

Re:My First Minmatar deck - 2007/03/09 21:42I have to agree with the comment on locations, with only 9 you're going to have trouble getting started, I think the consensus is 12+, and I usually go with 12. I have found even with the mulligan, 12 can sometimes give a slow start.
You are very news light, but I remember even with the mini/amarr starter and a couple of boosters there was not much minmatar news available. Just don't expect your news to be effective.
Also you have a few too many starbase structures for my tastes, starbase structures can provide great defenses, but they can't really win the game for you.
I'm not going to make specific card recomendations as it sounds like you don't have unlimited card supply, but I'd try to drop a few starbase structures for more news. add a few more locations
