There are 99 different cards legal in Minmatar Decks, not including Starbases, Regions and Locations...
Of these I have managed to use 54 in various decks over time...
Of the remaining 45, I have grouped many into concept decks that I will get around to building in time. However, there are a few that I am having trouble with. So without further ado, do any of my fellow Minmatar devotees have thoughts on the following cards?
Labor Quarters Bellicose Crime Pays Crooked Accomplice Frontline Intelligence Impending Doom Mutiny Prophecy of Macaber Salvage Drones The Mandator
I can think of uses for many of these cards, but none of them have made the cut in any deck or concept deck that I have designed. Some, because there are just better ways of achieving the same aim a different way, others because they are just naff.
Thoughts?

Re:99 Minmatar Cards on the wall... - 2007/03/29 01:14Salvage Drones?? Use them to get back your Magnetic Pulse/Adaster's Disasters. I'd be especially interested in them if I didn't have 4x Remnants/Adasters in my deck.
I used Bellicose a lot when I first started playing, but because it is not specialized it often doesn't see much play. I use it for a the ability to warp scramble, and it has a nice attack/defense with the ability to recover itself if it dies.
Mutiny isn't really much of a Minmatar Card, imo. The only exception may be if you decided to play a minmatar junkyard style deck, with no ships. Then you'd need mutiny to take any locations.
Minmatar decks are all about the speed, but Labor Quarters doesn't normally help. I'd prefer some Impending Dooms in the deck instead of Labor Quarters normally.
Crime Pays is actually most effective in a minmatar deck. Before your turn starts you lay down a Crime Pays in a weak enemy region, you then take it on your turn, using ships and/or damage, then hold for 1 turn to reap benefits. Only reasonably usable in a minnie deck.
Frontline Intel sucks, period.
The Mandator is a nice warp scrambler of sorts, though it hasn't made it into my decks yet. I'd use it in a deck with Vigils + Bellicose.

Re:99 Minmatar Cards on the wall... - 2007/03/29 03:28Frontline Intel sucks, period. Yep, only use I could see for this card would be to switch from a mining/trade ability to an ambush/patrol.
So you could switch a Celestis from trade to patrol, a Imparitor from Mining to Patrol or a Reaper from Mining to Ambush. This could be useful in some instances, but not enough to warant putting it in a deck in my mind.
It could be used as a decoy, "accidentally" leave a big ambush turned off (oops), you're opponent seizes the opportunity, and you play FI add a couple of warp scrambles and you can kill some of his key ships. Of course it's a ploy that will only work so many times (once if they're smart)
But still hoping for more usefulness once the expansion comes out
Prophecy of Macaber Looking down the barrel of a couple of battleships being assembled? had a bad draw on locations while you're opponent has them in pleanty? Want to feed Trial & Error and/or Ginnungagap? Want to destroy a lot of news on the board? (remember you could mind control it before it destroys ships, or before it destroys locations?

Re:99 Minmatar Cards on the wall... - 2007/03/29 07:52Frontline intel is a bit more useful than has been made out - it's main use is for activating commands in regions you've only just taken the turn before, and so couldn't otherwise activate. Still, it's not good enough to make it into my decks.
(Its counterpart Outmaneuvred is a bit the same - it'd be OK to have, but the effect isn't strong enough to warrant taking up deck space.)
Crime Pays just isn't that great. I think the only time I'd use it is in a deck with Endless Re-runs: otherwise it's just not worth the risk of your opponent getting the benefit. As Erdain says though, if you do want to use it on its own, a Minmatar deck is probably the best home for it.
The Mandator and Impending Doom are both good cards, but are more likely to make it into my Caldari decks than Minmatar. I find they fit the style a bit better, and Minmatar can do The Mandator's job - of making sure ships get destroyed - more easily with simple direct-damage news.
