EVE TSG Comes to America - 2006/11/03 07:29my question is this.. how many other people if any got the game on the release date of 11/1/2006 in america? i got my decks at 8am CST on 11/1/2006 because i work at a distributor and we we're allowed to ship them on the 1st. so the real question is.. am i actually the first person to actually purchase EVE:TSG in the US since i got them the second my work started on the day we we're allowed to ship them?

Re:EVE TSG Comes to America - 2006/11/03 14:43That depends on how you define "purchased". I preordered my booster packs at the beginning of September as soon as my distributor had preorders available.
I should be getting some more booster packs today.
I'm missing one card between my foils and non-foils. though I'm missing around 9 non-foils.
However, yet to actually play anyone.
Bora...

No, you're not the first, since there was a pre-release sale, and people like myself, bought cards a couple months ago.

Re:EVE TSG Comes to America - 2006/11/04 05:52Well I think that those of us that purchased cards at GenCon Indy back in August may have been some of the first to buy the game if that counts.

Re:EVE TSG Comes to America - 2006/11/04 06:59oh well, no biggie but the question i have is: how was borders selling the game when it had a DO NOT SHIP Before 11/1/2006 Manufacturer Instructions attached to it, meaning it wasnt supposed to be shipped before then? you got an address and a phone number for the store?
I work for the 3rd largest distributor of card games and hobby supplies in the country and if they had it 2 weeks early then somebody is in some serious shit. not to mention the fact that even we didnt recieve our shipment of cards in until last wednesday (10/25/2006) morning, so i dont see how they would get copies before the distributors did.
anyways good to know. still get to be one of the first people to buy the cards i already hooked a shitload of people on it... it has become the death of MTG at our local colleges LMAO

Re:EVE TSG Comes to America - 2006/11/05 04:20I bought both starter kits at my Barnes & Noble on 10/21. I have no idea why they were out at that time, but I don't think it's worth raising a stink over, since they don't have any boster packs, and apparently I bought the only two starter kits they ever had. Besides, mentioning EVE at any other store in my area has gotten me nothing but strange looks, and that's after the official release date. I'm going insane trying to find just one store that carries boosters (or anyhting at this point, since B&N seems permanently sold out).

Re:EVE TSG Comes to America - 2006/11/05 22:58Barnes and Noble had starter decks for the past few weeks because of the "Game Week 2006" semi-promotion thing they were having. They were trying to show off many different card and board games and SHOULD have had the cards on that table (although out of the two B&Ns I went to, one had the cards on the shelf with the RPG books and the other had the cards on the game table).

Re:EVE TSG Comes to America - 2006/11/08 21:23I've tried demoing around here (DFW, Texas) and all I get are funny looks as well. Alliance even had a buy-back plan and this one store still wouldn't carry it (claiming CCG burnout) If it wasn't Magic/YuGiOh/WWF they weren't interested (not even L5R). oh well...
