Tournament at UK Games Expo - Birmingham - 2007/04/05 10:03I was wondering if there where any plans to hold an EVE tournament at UK Games Expo at the beginning of June. I, for one, would be interested in playing in one. Would be a good warm-up event for the UK Championships later that month. We shall seed the stars with our scions and reap that harvest.

Re:Tournament at UK Games Expo - Birmingham - 2007/04/05 13:16And if Uncle Sam lets me leave for a few days, I will fly over from Germany to play! Ryan Air flies me there, only 32 euro, hahahaha...BUT, I may need a "kind, friendly" fellow player to give me a ride from the airport to my hotel/game venue....
I will probably get destroyed in the tournament, well, not probably...I WILL GET DESTROYED, hahahaha, but at least I will have fun!

Re:Tournament at UK Games Expo - Birmingham - 2007/04/05 17:42I don't have anything planned for Birmingham at the moment, but anyone interested in running should let me know. I have plenty of swag to give away, but not enough time to be everywhere. I'd love to work out with anyone interested in running a tournament here.Zack Walters EVE: The Second Genesis Organized Play Coordinator White Wolf | CCP North America

I am definately going to the event and had a word with one of the organisers today about whether we can get any space or not and he'd be happy to help try get us some. There is also free gaming tables all night so we could always run some ad hoc stuff.
AgentZero PM me as to what you want me to do and i'd be happy to help out.
Cheers

I'm one of the convention organisers for UK GAMES EXPO and I believe it was Stormbirds who approached me to ask if we would look into running a tournament for EVE CCG players.
Well, we'd be more than happy to provide some space for a tournament and I'm here trying to make the relevent contacts to provide an umpire and prize support for such an event. We have space available on the Sunday (3rd June)in which to accommodate players if that will suit?
So, if Agent Zero can give the required permissions and Stormbirds is ready to run and umpire the event - we're good to go!
As to costs - tournament space doesn't come free - we would look to charge £8 for a day's ccg gaming but once that is paid there is no additional costs and you have access to all the convention (20,000 sq feet & 65+ traders for the entire weekend included in the price - we don't charge you extra just to come through the door!
Please get in touch as soon as you can and we can get details of the tournament format, etc.. onto the convention web site.

Re:Tournament at UK Games Expo - Birmingham - 2007/04/23 17:31I'm ready and willing, so when Agent Zero gets back from GAMA we are good to go with regards to sorting it all out.
Kevin is you could private message me with a phone number and or e-mail address, then I can contact you with regards to the event without the need to cluter up the boards.
Cheers

Re:Tournament at UK Games Expo - Birmingham - 2007/04/24 09:50Good to hear things are progressing well. I would ask that if the tournament is going to be on Sunday that it could go for a late morning start (11am earliest) as I know from experience that those of us who rely on public transport or are travelling far distances find earlier starts very hard or impossible to make.
Hopefully I be able to drag down a couple of people with me as well.We shall seed the stars with our scions and reap that harvest.

Re:Tournament at UK Games Expo - Birmingham - 2007/05/08 12:04Right everything is confirmed for the event to be held at Expo, I have posted it in the events section as well, but as that will take a bit of time to update I thought I would give you all the heads up here.
So the tournament details are:
Sunday 3rd June Birmingham Games Expo Type: Contructed Rounds: 4 Start time: 11.30am Cost: £5 Capacity: 12 people
The start time will be a little flexible to allow everyone to have time to get there and so on, but we will definately start no later than 12pm.

Re:Tournament at UK Games Expo - Birmingham - 2007/05/09 12:54Just going to play is fun enough for most of us. Winning, well that's nice but I've never played in a tournament where I expected to win, it ruins the fun of playing against new people. Hope to see a lot of you there. We shall seed the stars with our scions and reap that harvest.
