Price of a pint?? - 2006/11/03 13:38With all the excitement building about the FanFest and the amount of hard-drinking that's gonna happen, I remembered something a bit urban-myth-esque: Do any of the UK players remember the Tennant's lager advert that was parodying Iceland (reindeer balls, 20:1 female-to male population ratio etc) where the closing line was "Only £12 a pint!!" It was on TV so it must be true , but is the drink expensive over there?

I thought I'd best check before I bought all those Kronur, so I used my sekrit connections connections in the industry (ie, I pm'd Tallest) to discover that it was actually closer to about £3.80 a pint. Which means I dont have to spend two weeks wages on two night's beer

Also guys buy some alchol at the dutie free when you have landed. Have a drink before you start cheeper

There is much truth in this. Alcohol in the dutie free store costs about 50% of what it does in the city. Pick up the liquor of your choice (along with some Brennivin), and just pregame before heading out for the night. And hey, the money you save doing this will free up some funds you can use to buy drinks for those twenty ladies.
