OCTGN TCG/CCG's Played Online - 2006/11/05 09:01I was wondering if this ccg is going to be playable on OCTGN http://www.cardfloppers.com/cf_pages.php?page=1 . All the big TCG/CCG are played on here (Marvel VS, Magic the Gathering, YuGiOh and most recently World of Warcraft) its great practice. Not all of us have friends to play with every week so this is a great alternative.
Maybe someone with the know how could make it possible!!!

Also, its good for the game to get some online games in to garner more interest, to make people buy more actual cards, etc.

Re:OCTGN TCG/CCG's Played Online - 2006/11/06 08:34A lot of online CCG solutions have been suggested, and last time I asked CCP were happy for EVE to be played in a net based game. I know Zack recently answered a query at an online ccg development forum (forget the name) so maybe something in the works there. Failing anything else, writing a CCG in VB.net is not incredibly difficult, but is pretty time consuming. It's generally only a matter of time before creates one for any given CCG (I'd do it, except I dont have the time to develop/support/continue it).
I'd say that within a couple of months, there'll be a to play EVE:TSG online, if not more than one.

Re:OCTGN TCG/CCG's Played Online - 2006/11/06 09:46I was worried that CCP might have issues over someone hijacking their game to play in an online application, but so long as they're happy enough then I wouldnt mind sorting out a workable version of the Core Set. I gathered that it was a simple matter of constructing an XML file?============================ "There is always Hope...." - Elessar Telcontar ============================

Re:OCTGN TCG/CCG's Played Online - 2006/11/07 14:13I was checking out the OCTGN program and how to modify it to a particular CCG... seems bog-standard enuff, although a bit time-consuming. Anyways, unless I hear otherwise from the Devs I've decided I'm going to get cracking on with tailoring a version for ETSG (mostly because I'm busting for a game that doesnt involve me having to get on a plane first).

Still waiting to hear from "The Appropriate People" I'm afraid. Bug and Nov don't really want to put the time into developing it and then have it squashed by CCP...-Ryuteki, Owner of the Rules! (5pm) Right... stuff that!! My head's melted already. Looks like it's gonna have to be in Apprentice.
EDIT (7 hours later) After wrestling with different apps for most of the afternoon and evening it seems there's too many playability issues with Apprentice (cant send cards to the bottom of the market and other tripe). And i've finally got my head around the OCTGN format, the app itself is a lot more versatile too. Just one or two more things to check and then i'll get stuck into it PROPAH!! </half-baked devblog>

Re:OCTGN TCG/CCG's Played Online - 2006/11/17 11:10I used to use magic Workshop for VS and it was pretty good as it facilitated all forms of card rotation and car dplacement on top/bottom of deck. You can also make custome skins for the prgoramme to make it very EVE
God luck with the project!

Yes indeedy... At the moment I have most of the cards and images in an OCTGN-compatible format... the rest will follow in the next day or so and after that I just need to tweak the format a little (different colours for different card types etc) So all being well (and with a little proof-reading) I should have something for yous before the weekend... Sorry it's taken so long but i was laid up for a few days with Galloping Gutrot ...oh, and there was copious amounts of drinking that just absolutely had to be done last weekend
Looking forward to playing you fellas soon!!============================ "There is always Hope...." - Elessar Telcontar ============================
