First Deck Idea's - 2007/05/27 07:53Heya there, So this is my first Deck rambling...So if any card names dont exactly match I apologize(dont have the cards with me atm). As a group of 4 EVE playing friends we set out on the cardgame, everyone building a deck with his own race and dividing starters and a boosterbox among the four of us. Based on race etc. So first some things I noticed as to Gallente:
-Could be just that particular box, but whereas my Mimatar and Amarr friend got a Tyhoon and a Guardian respectively I got off with some Inferior/Iterons and an Exequror as the bigger highlights (okay a second Celestis owned also!). However due to my lack of ships I had dips on some nice and juicy News and Locations. Including a second Arkanor field and stuff like Labor Quarters, Center of Asterology, Junkyard Dock, Lost Deliveries etc. So I am wondering, could I build a deck around the following idea:
*Here come some actual Deck Idea's*
Building a deck around ISK making (with Iteron, Inferior Iteron, Flourising Trade Route etc. To build up lots of ISK and smack down Lost Deliveries ASAP combined with Center of ASterology and Labor Quarters to not nerf my own Assembly, a Rookie Mistakes and some Premature Retired Veterans to make sure there are no real threats in the field. Throwing down some Celestis, Navitas and Exequrors to nerf his "no assembly" ships (wich would then cost more and be less boostable with news due to extra news cost) and finally warping in with little stuff (with help of mayb an Institute of bureaucracy and putting down Legal Department to down his shields and shield boosting Structures to make the weenie rush deadly enough.
So my question, with nothing bigger then an Exequror/Catalyst on the combat ships side...Could it be done?

With Gallente decks, the idea is to hold back and make money quickly before tackling. Trading is not the way to do it, though. Iterons and other industrials are way to slow to develop, both in cost and assembly, and while iterons assist in producing one another, they rarely work out the way they are supposed to.
The best way to make money in the Gallente deck is to mine. Ships like the Navitas with hig def and mining capability are PERFECT to the T for mining in outer regions. They are solid defense ships. Tristans are well rounded and are good both for tackling and mining home regions.
As for larger ships, I've seen and and built decks solely around frigs and dessies, and they are the champs of tourney play, as those decks have to be quick. Putting 6-8 dessies in a deck with 8-10 frigs makes for a solid deck, as you can develop en masse really quickly and overwhelm you opponent. Bring out the dessies when your reay to bring down the towers.
These are super basic tips, but hope they help.
