The event attracted several regular players in the area, as well as, encouraged some new participation. Including James Warren who had never actually played a game, built a deck out of mostly commons and uncommons, and finished in 5th place. Congratulations James!
Competition was fierce and fun as ships battled for control of the solar system. Decks from all factions made an appearance and a variety of home regions were used. The most popular of the day was the Gallente Enthrallment Tower.
After four rounds, the competition was cut to the top 4 players for finals.
During the first round of the finals, Michael Remenak with his Amarr Emperi Tower deck took on Derek Richardson using the Gallente Enthrallment Tower. These two had previously met during the earlier rounds of play with Derek winning 2-1. The results in the finals were the same with Derek advancing to the championship match. Meanwhile, Nick Range and Doug Fleming battled it out both using a Minmatar decks. After the dust settled, Nick's Frailty Tower remained standing while Doug's Liberty Tower fallen. The final match between Nick and Derek was quick with Nick winning 2-1 in a well-fought battle.
The top three players earned seats that the 25K Gen Con championship. Congratulations to Nick, Derek, and Doug!Zack Walters EVE: The Second Genesis Organized Play Coordinator White Wolf | CCP North America
