This deck is mainly a defensive deck that attacks later game. The News cards are mainly anti-news in type, garnished with 'Exiled' for bit of ship killers when played. It is very starbase structure heavy, that adds a lot of shields to your defense. Since it will mainly be outnumbered against rush type decks, it leans heavily on EMP cards.

The main opening is to get Tierijev Pocket with 1 Plagioclase on it (total cost 5), that generates 6 income per turn. You must keep some money in the bank when possible to use the anti-news...and lower cost ships help you with that. Once you get upgraded starbase, you should be in a position to attack. Your shields with Guardian support should kill any starbase on attack. A dual Guardian attack with your anti-news in hand should be invincible even if your opponent has news cards that scramble the Guardian in the home region/dock.
