A few questions resulting from my first game today - 2007/08/30 20:08Hey guys, I have had a quick root around and couldn't find any answers to a few of my questions, so I figured I would ask them in one big batch here...
1) During a withdraw phase is it acceptable to warp all of your ships away? (my guess is yes, but I wasn't sure)
2) Can Disarmament Treaty be played on a 1 on 1 fight? (the description reads: "Each player must withdraw at least 1 ship from this region during this withdraw step, if able") I guess this is linked with question 1, but it still caused a wee bit of a debate when it was played.
3) When I have a ship with a command active, can I turn off the command and warp it in the same management phase, or does it need to wait for my next turn to move? I know I can move and activate, but I wasn't sure about the opposite way round.
4) The ability the Thrasher has says it can do 1 damage to an enemy scout or frigate for 2 isk, can this ability be used multiple times and at what phase of the round is this at? Is it at the management phase, or is it during the first combat step?
Lastly (I am sure you are glad of this)
5) Am I correct in assuming that you can only construct one ship at a time?
Thanks for your help and your patience.

Re:A few questions resulting from my first game to - 2007/08/30 21:001. Yes 2. Yes, and you can even play it if you have nobody there. 3. Yes, you can move and activate as many times as you like. You just have to stop if you enter an enemy Region. 4. It waits until the battle starts, then during the Begin Battle phase you can unload. 5. No, you can assemble as many ships per turn that you can afford.Blatherskite Caldari Propagandist

We managed to guess right on all of them, except the building ships part, which would probably have drastically changed the way we played... ahh well, at least we know the right answer now.

You can activate the Thrasher's ability at any time, with the following exception: When you attack with that Thrasher you can't activate it's ability during the management phase (because it attacked)
So you have to two situations: As defender: you can activate Thrasher's ability during battle phase and during Management phase - that means BEFORE battle starts. That way you can destroy enemy ships without entering battle at all!
As attacker: you can only activate Thrasher's ability during battle phase, but at any given time during battle - you can do it right at the beginning of battle before your opponent's ambush etc. kicks in, or during result step when some enemy frigss still have shields and you don't want them to!Nothing is as simple as it looks.

Re:A few questions resulting from my first game to - 2007/08/31 01:10So, if the attacker moves the thrasher into the region, he can't activate until battle, but the defender can effectively say "Right you, I am going to pay x isk to pop those frigates you put there," stopping a battle phase before it begins?

Thats right.
And to clarify even futher on Zorbarak's explenation, if you are attacking you can use the ability during any time of battle and you can use it multiple times during battle. So you can pop a few frigs before they ambush/kamikaza and if your thrasher is still alive at the result step you can use the ability again to mop up the surviveing frigs... Given that you have the ISK for it ofcours

Ambush, yes... Kami, no. Thrasher cant be used during the battle phase to stop kamikaze. Once it hits the battle phase NOTHING can stop kamikaze. (Well, okay - Necropolis can, but only in a pre-emptive fashion. There's no reactive defense to kamikaze is what Im trying to say...) Of course, a defending Thrasher can clear the board of attacking Kamikazi-able ships during the management phase.
