Promo Card - 2007/09/06 22:41 Not sure if anyone has seen this card but I received it today at a store.

Venere's Megathron
Battleship
Gallante

17 Isk

+13/+15

When Venere's Megathron is dealt damage, you may have it deal equal damage to a ship of your choice in this region.

Re:Promo Card - 2007/09/07 12:37 Yeah. It is a brick.

To bad we can't play with it officially until the set it is released in comes out.

How come? Normal practice in most games is that there is a release date for the promo and it may be played X days after that date, regardless of whether it is in a larger set or not.

Re:Promo Card - 2007/09/07 14:34 Blatherskite (or anyone who knows)

How did your store receive those promo cards?
My local store would like to know, thanks =)

I find that 'normal practice' you mention a bit careless and in this case inappropriate. Granted, it should not happen that you release a promo card but not the actual card but making that promo legal for play is not a good idea imo. It would be too powerful due to it's rarity...

Re:Promo Card - 2007/09/07 17:19 Is this card only available at stores? Is there any other way to get a hold of it?

Re:Promo Card - 2007/09/07 17:57 As far as I know the store owner was unaware he was even getting them. He order his Eve cards from Alliance so it must be something they are doing for large orders? I don't know....

Btw...they're FOIL!!!

I think we should be able to use them. L5R used promos all the time that weren't available to everyone...tournament promos, special edition promos, etc.

Re:Promo Card - 2007/09/07 18:07 Venere's Megathron is indeed a promo card. It was included with prerelease kit orders, and intended to be given to players during release events. And yes, it's tournament-legal. Zack Walters

Re:Promo Card - 2007/09/07 18:22 I take it this:

AgentZero wrote:
Once The Exiled is legal, any preview cards will be legal, but they will be considered to have the text found on the corresponding card from the set. Essentially, they should be considered to have been errata'd.

While some players may find this annoying and unnecessary, it does allow for one big benefit: the preview cards can be used in sanctioned tournaments without being considered proxies. They are fully legal cards.

only applies to Exiled then. Okay, my bad.
