Those promo cards are part of the promo kits, which contain one Core Set Display, one Exiled Display and twenty copys of each of that two promo cards. In Germany (other countries I do not know) those kits were offered to card SHOPS in order to arrange prerelease tournaments. I participated in two of them, both event descriptions telling me about getting at least one of each cards for BEING THERE.
It was the same with the release of the Core Set. There were Promo and Demo Kits available for Shops to order. For me as a private person there was no dealer to order them directly, though for the first tourny I managed myself Zack sended those Kits to my local store.
Those cards are made for events. I didn't know how they looked like or what their effects were in the beginning, but I knew about them because I watched for events in the event section.
Oh, one more thing There are non-foil and foil versions - my local store got the non-foil, but I got foils on both events in the past...Nothing is as simple as it looks.

However (unlike V:TES) at the moment there doesn't appear to be any channel for prospective 'agents' to purchase their own kits, or for normal players to obtain the cards after the 'event' date has passed. I trust that's something that will be resolved fairly soon...?

I hope, or would like to suggest, that all of the promos are added to the shiny new card DB we keep hearing about. As a collector that would help me with my OCD...

Not worried about it though as I've not taken part in a large number of tournaments. If I had then I would expect to be at least seeing them in the prize package for the winners.We shall seed the stars with our scions and reap that harvest.

Re:Promo Card - 2007/09/12 18:56I have both the promos now and to be honest I couldn't see making a deck with either one...they are really expensive. They are however nice for collection purposes. L5R did a lot with the promo thing but, their promos were game breaking cards and that did suck if you couldn't get a play set, so I'm kind of glad EVE is keeping the promos pricey and not game breaking.Blatherskite Caldari Propagandist
