Emperors decree - 2007/09/10 19:32I realize this subject has been brought up, but I'm not looking for a debate here...in fact in looking for the answers to my questions I went through pages of crap trying to just get a little info...so if I sound pissy sorry. All the talk on this card and I still don't know what exactly was officially decided. Thanks in advance if you have the answers.
1.Does BTED allow you to put into play outer region only locations in your Home Region or vice versa (such as with sublet station)?
2.Does the card ability, such as Scordite, Omber, etc, come into effect when the card comes into play?
A quick question about Ginnungagap. What was the official ruling on playing from your hand a location into this outer region when nobody controls it?
Thanks again, and please don't hi-jack this for debate, there is already a thread dedicated to that on this topic. Just looking for official rulings/ clarification /errata.
Thanks again.Blatherskite Caldari Propagandist

Re:Emperors decree - 2007/09/10 19:441. No - even with the debate, this was universally accepted. Location-based restrictions are accepted to apply.
2. Yes - cards with "when it comes into play" effects still trigger, because the card is coming into play.
3. Not sure what the official word might be, but the rules are pretty clear that without an owner, as written, Ginnungagap's text wouldn't be active. Barring errata, there hasn't been anything to change that.

If Sansha's Scout outpost is already in play and you BTED a location into the region with Sansha's does Sansha's go back to your hand?Blatherskite Caldari Propagandist

Re:Emperors decree - 2007/09/10 21:12Nope. Sansha's says "is played" - BTED brings the card into play, but it is not "played".

Re:Emperors decree - 2007/09/10 23:24I still dont understand why there was a debate on BTED

Re:Emperors decree - 2007/09/10 23:43Without starting the debate here: The new text for Decree says that the card must be "playable". That's an undefined term, and the debate over what that restriction meant got rather heated.

The intent on Ginnungagap is very clear (that you can't) and that's how Petur ruled it in Indy.
I agree that we need an official errata to tidy this one up but in the meantime I wouldn't stoop low enough to exploit the loophole (and if judging would smite anyone who did).

Re:Emperors decree - 2007/09/11 15:02I feel very sorry for anyone who shows up to your event with a proper understanding of that rule, then Until WW gets around to the errata, it should be played according to the rule, not according to what a developer told you in a personal aside at a convention.
