Remnant of Vak'Atioth - 2007/09/13 20:20 "Remnant of Vak'Atioth deals X damage to target enemy ship. DURATION I: The controller of that ship may draw 2 cards."

I'm woundering about the card draw thingy. If the target ship is destroyed by Remnant, does the opponent still get to draw cards when Remnant is turned to duration 1? It states "the controller of that ship", but is any one considered "The controller" of ships on the scrapheap?

"That ship" is the ship which Remnant targeted during Duration 2. You will not find it possible to legally target a ship that does not have a controller.

Re:Remnant of Vak'Atioth - 2007/09/14 10:14 Much as I'd like to say Smugger is being silly, I think he's got a point here.

The way we've all been playing the card suggests you lock in the controller when the card was played rather than re-checking at duration one. I believe that's what the designers intended but it's very odd.

With Mutiny in the same set I can see why they didn't say Owner but it'd have made things a lot simpler.

It gets really tiresome to read "Target a ship, and also target the player who controls that ship. Then do X to the target ship. On Duration 2, do Y to target player."
