Re:My First ArcanistCCG Deck (Amarr) - 2007/10/07 06:26Solid as a rock is my first impression. A straightforward hit-them-over-the-head, Amarr beatdown.
I can't see anything obviously wrong with it, actually... but, being the loudmouth I am, I can't help but note where I'd have chosen slightly different cards.
Stain and Insmother are a classic combination, but what's the Aridia for? Personally, I prefer either Tierijev Pocket (for impossible-to-take-awayness) or Sansha's Nation (for recursion).
I never saw the point to Hemorphite... and you're leaning a heck of a lot on outer regions. Consider Dark Ochre/Slave Mines or just Dark Ochre. That way, even if he gets the outer region away from you, he gets practically nothing.
Executioner's... pretty bad. Lackluster is the best term. Consider Crucifier, a handy man in any situation. Blood Diviner is also a nice guy, a complimentary miner for Blood Herald.
Newswise... Exiled is a great one, but Speaker is waaaay to defensive for my liking. Ditto Network Access- it sucks away a news card stopping or destroying it, maybe. I'd rather pack another Exiled or a Damage Control or three, to stop him dead rather than try to be tricky and suck ISK away.
Field Supply Router's pretty good, Moon Harvester I can't comment on (not having played it recently, with the new toweers). Seems like I'd rather just play a location that gets me 2 ISK.
All of the above are just personal feelings on the cards. The general shape of the deck is excellent, and I'm pretty sure it'll do quite well. The best advice I can offer is: play several games with it, and see how it does. Good luck!

Thanks for the input RedX, sound advices in all regards. Except newswise - I prefer some defensive properties altho the deck is based on Stain/Insmother lock /w straightforward attacking against homebase(s)... so I keep the news as they are, till I´ve seen how they work in reality.
Aridia I only had cos I have to have 3 outer regions - never intented to really play it, but you are right - Sansha´s Nation is alot more usefull if/when I need to play a fast/cheap outer region or card recursion
Executioner is weak. I know. I just wanted a 2-3isk body to throw in the game...just laziness picking the fist that comes across when browsing the card database
Ditto Hemorphite, come to think of it. It´s not really a good location. Unless you´re playing a big multiplayer and you need ISK fast... and Arcanist doesn´t even support any kinds of multiplays
...I suspect there are a plenty of more problems with this deck along the road but the main problem for now to me is drawing - I might find myself sort on flappy ones quite fast with this build. I was considering Society of Concious Thought but dunno/doubt if I can commit to defend 2 outers for a long period of time. Any suggestions on how to improve the deck draw-wise?

Re:My First ArcanistCCG Deck (Amarr) - 2007/10/08 10:28Going to agree with RedX that it looks a good deck. My only critique of it is the Moon Harvester. I think you are better off without it and going up to 3 Field Supply Routers and another Bastion of Blood. We shall seed the stars with our scions and reap that harvest.
