Absolute Newbie : Reclamation win ? - 2007/10/24 16:20Hi I've bought some time ago a starter, box of booster and just 2 days ago found a player to use it all Unfortunately, this Caldari scum overruns me with his ships (from just one starter and one booster, to be worse ).
Because I am very fond of Reclamation tower, and I am trying to utilize it (with medicore result) - is this option really possible? For now, I've noticed that (regardless of deck construction) he simply overruns me with his ships - claiming total outer region control, and then simply gathering forces to crush my base.
Please note that we're using only base set, and with limited access to resuirces

The Caldari do have a good number of ships at their disposal in the base set.
So, you are working on using Reclamation Tower, which states that, "At the beginning of your management phase, if any player’s starbase shield is 20 or higher, every other player who controls at least one fewer region(s) than him or her loses the game."
So, are you doing alright with the getting your shields to 20 part, but can't control more regions then your opponent, or are you having problems with both?
I recommend some smaller ships that you can get out quickly, like that Gallante Atron and the Amarr Crucifier to hold your own while you build shields, and then focus on taking one outer region, and then using a card like Forsaken Ruins to force your opponent off the others. It is a news that reads: "Play only during your management phase. All ships in target outer region must withdraw. Ships cannot warp into that region" It keep you out as well, but you are just trying to control more then your opponent at tht one moment.
That's just my opinion, I'm sure that others will have suggestions.

Re:Absolute Newbie : Reclamation win ? - 2007/10/24 21:30Problem is that mean Caldari fleet is too powerful and too quickly raised. Those nasty ships that boost up +1/+1 for my friggies/scouts are more than match for my Predators or Crucifiers, and there's always (ALWAYS!) mr. Thrasher who could defend any one region from me alone... (Thrasher + Stain or Stain + set of Kestrels in early game and I am boosted). Larger ships, on other hand, are very limited in my arsenal, not to mentioning impractical due to cost, and my news that remove ship from my sky seems to be always countered with countermeasures.
Maybe something that tampers someone's cash flow, or increases ship's cost ? Althouth I tried those little friggies that are
Forsaken ruins : I'm using it

Re:Absolute Newbie : Reclamation win ? - 2007/10/29 16:36Don't forget that the Punisher and the Tormentor are both great at holding outer regions against frigates. Very few small ships can muster the damage potential to destroy either ship on their own.Zack Walters EVE: The Second Genesis Organized Play Coordinator White Wolf | CCP North America

Re:Absolute Newbie : Reclamation win ? - 2008/08/11 10:09There's the "Turbo Reclamation" combo - Juggernaut Platform with its 'return to hand' ability nerfed by Mind Clash, although you need 2 of this two card combo (so a four card combo really) and it can be difficult to pull off. Ibis are handy wee ships for starbase shield pumps too...
Incidentally, waaaaayyyyyyyy back at launch I wrote a two-part article about all of the Alternate Win strategies, and there's a couple of other decent ideas included. Re:Absolute Newbie : Reclamation win ? - 2008/09/03 04:12Also consider Repair outpost, another +1 income starbase structure that lets you buy shields, not as efficient as the blood battery, but if you can build up the isk.....
