Tournament: Sat 1st Dec @ Dragonmeet, London, UK - 2007/11/07 12:36Dragonmeet is a 1-day games convention that takes place every year in London at the beginning of December at Kensington Town Hall. Although the main web site is still down, info on the con can be found at:
I've reserved 20 seats for an EVE: TSG constructed event to start play at 12.00pm (midday) and I will be there organising and taking registrations from 11.00am. If you would like to come I would encourage you please to e-mail me beforehand at eveccg@darkness.org.uk to pre-register and reserve your seat.
The event will be a standard constructed tournament using the same swiss format as was used at Fanfest - i.e. 4 x 1-hour rounds and then two additional single-elimination rounds for the top four. There will be no entry fee to play, but you will need to pay your entry into the con. Prizes will come courtesy of WW/CCP (and I have some spare boosters as a backup plan).
I'm thinking this will turn out to be the biggest EVE event of the year (for the UK) as Birmingham and Manchester only pulled 8 heads each. With over three weeks to go there's still time to get a cheap train ticket. People travelling from far away who need crash space can try the new Travelodge that's opened in the centre, and I may even be able to offer crash space for one or two people myself if needs be.
Hopefully see some of you there...?

Re:Tournament: Sat 1st Dec @ Dragonmeet, London, U - 2007/11/07 14:33No way man, the biggest EVE event in the UK is going to happen in Coventry at the Hangover Convention this weekend on Sunday ( We can but hope).
Seriously though if I can make it down for this one I will and if I can't I really hope you break the 8 player mark.
Cheers

Well I have to say I'm a little disappointed by the response so far. I know there are a least a half-dozen UK players here on the boards. Can you 'maybes' please confirm either way? Will anybody else be making it?

@Maarud: Dont worry Fella! Everyone's gotta start somewhere, and tourney-level play tends not to take any prisoners. It's a steep learning curve, so dont get down-hearted. You'll do far better next time because of the lessons learnt at Dragonmeet.============================ "There is always Hope...." - Elessar Telcontar ============================

Re:Tournament: Sat 1st Dec @ Dragonmeet, London, U - 2007/12/03 12:26Many thanks to dtee and robofish, the only two players in attendance at Saturday's event. They walked away very happy with an EVE art book, plus a set of the new promos and a nice handful of Exiled boosters each.
