Dam Torsad and Archaeological Site - 2008/01/10 19:03Quoted from FAQ: If I use Dam Torsad to bring the fourth Archaeological Site into play, is it still considered the beginning of my turn and I win the game, or do I have to wait a turn?
All "At the beginning of your turn" effects go on the pile at the same time, so after Dam Torsad's ability has been resolved from the pile it is no longer the beginning of your turn.
What’s the?.. I mean, why? All this are pending abilities. Because I’m active player, I can place simultaneously triggered abilities as I want. So, that, how I do it:
<Pile top> Dam Torsad’s: At the beginning of your turn, you may search your market for a location that you could legally play in this region and put it into play in this region, then shuffle your market.
Archaeological Site’s: At the beginning of your turn, if you control an Archeological Site in four different regions, you win the game. <Pile bottom>
Dam’s effect resolved early and when Site’s effect is resolving and I checking a condition “4 regions – 4 sites”, this condition achieved (I already searched and placed Site in the play by Dam).
I can make one guess, why... Cause Site’s condition is checking, when its effect going to the pile, not resolving. But in the terms of the TCG (CCG) it’s illogical.
I want hear a solid confirmation by rules, why this question in the FAQ have that answer. Beforehand thanks. Say what you think. Think what you say.

But Archaeological Site's condition is not met and never goes on the pile.
I think the confusion is that Archaeological Site's trigger is "At the beginning of your turn, if you control an Archeological Site in four different regions" and puts a "You win the game" ability on the pile. You have not met the condition.
And thus, by the time Dam Torsad has resolved it is nolonger the beginning of your turn and it won't trigger until your next turn.

Re:Dam Torsad and Archaeological Site - 2008/01/11 10:59Completely right. At the beginning of the turn means exactly what it says. If your first action is to do anything then that's the beginning of the turn gone.We shall seed the stars with our scions and reap that harvest.

Re:Dam Torsad and Archaeological Site - 2008/01/11 18:31Completely right. At the beginning of the turn means exactly what it says. If your first action is to do anything then that's the beginning of the turn gone. I'm sorry, but it's absurd. I view from TCG point and don't want to huff (or hurt) somebody. "Beginning of the turn" is just a trigger's condition, but pile desides all.
I think the confusion is that Archaeological Site's trigger is "At the beginning of your turn, if you control an Archeological Site in four different regions" and puts a "You win the game" ability on the pile. You have not met the condition. My bad. You're right. It's a complex trigger: game phase (when) and condition (if). Just one FALSE, and it isn't triggered.

Re:Dam Torsad and Archaeological Site - 2008/01/16 04:20A player's turn begins the moment an opponent's turn ends. At that precise moment you do not have 4 Arch Sites in play, and do not win. Anything that triggers at the beginning of your turn can now be placed on the pile and, once all such triggers have been dealt with, the "beginning of your turn" is over and the pile can begin resolving.
