Re:Development of EVE CCG - 2008/04/11 00:41hope you weren't counting me in those 7 players, lack of opponents means I don't really "play" the game any more.

Re:Development of EVE CCG - 2008/04/11 03:38Hrm, I'm in the same boat... Maybe 'loyalists' would be a better term

We actually have a play group up here of about... 8-10 players tops?
We're a big fan of multiplayer, but there are some mechanics to the game that make multiplayer a difficult scenario, such as each player having a huge fleet ambushing, afraid to expend their fleet to attack another and thus leave them open for a counterattack from another player.
I've actually been thinking about designing a multiplayer concept that will change the game a bit, something like a STARMAP where several outer regions are distributed face down, and some sort of form linking them together, while each player has their starbase in their own little isolated corner. Ships travel to the regions, revealing them and taking control, establishing paths of conquest etc. What do you guys think?

Re:Development of EVE CCG - 2008/04/11 07:04I agree with the multiplayer, it tends to end up coming down to he who attacks first looses, which doesn't really lend itself to a game being resolved unless one player has a stronger deck.

Re:Development of EVE CCG - 2008/04/11 07:09As a 'loyalist' myself i'm always eager to get some new ideas for playing. We had a lot of multiplayer rounds in the past at my place aswell. The biggest drawback was for us, that it slowed the game down even more. And whoever made the 1st move and did not win was doomed the next turn. so most of the time people where just building up bigger and bigger fleets ...

Re:Development of EVE CCG - 2008/04/13 20:53May be it's offtopic, but if anybody knows why there is no EVE CCG starter deck displays in EVE online store and The Exiled decks, because it's expensive for me to order it from White Wolf. But I planed to buy some displays and distribute it among russian players who want to play EVE CCG but are unable to buy it.

Re:Development of EVE CCG - 2008/04/14 21:28At this point, I think it's pretty optimistic to assume there will be any reprinting at all, much less corrections as part of it.

At this point, I'm still crossing my fingers, simply because there hasn't been any word since the last word from Zack, which *was* positive, at least somewhat.
*edit* I have a lot of blind hope.

Re:Development of EVE CCG - 2008/04/15 10:39Hi everyone. One of those "Loyalist" here. Good to see some of you still around. Been very busy lately but was hoping to find something about the next set. It would not be smart not to reprint it. For example, there is great demand for the game in Russia. I even can't buy any items in capital city, Moscow, 'cos all the retailers are out of stock and their suppliers, as I was told, are out of stock too. By now I've found 1 core set starter in the other part of the country in online store - that's all))

Re:Development of EVE CCG - 2008/04/15 14:36@steve: I'd say we hadn't heard anything about the new set, but that would be an insult to nothing. Beyond a few teases from Zack about something they can't talk about, there's been absolutely nothing ANYWHERE - nothing here, nothing in any articles I've seen, nothing on the WW LJ (which has included constant references to the EVE RPG)... Nada.
@Chronos: A new printing has a massive cost associated with it. Without some evidence of a thriving game (which it sorely lacking right now), a reprint makes no sense at all. Why make a reprint set that 10% of the player base might need, rather than a new set that all seven of us might buy?
I can certainly sympathize with you having problems getting cards, but your group needing cards doesn't mean a reprint makes good business sense.

I wanted to say that there is no cards in Russian market at all, but the demand is quite large. I can say that 'cos all the retailers are out of stock.
I think the good thing for develompent could be making more bright and often promo events and tournaments.
