Re:any tips - 2008/07/18 15:03Depends a lot on what you actually have and what kind of deck your friend plays. Your boosters are they coreset only? exiled only? mixed?
For example: If you friend plays a frigate heavy deck you'll want some destroyers in there. Coercer is neat against frigates. Also the exiled expansion has a character that makes all ships limited (which hits a frigate deck much harder than a deck who plays only one ship a turn anyway). Also the exiled destroyers a good to discourage frigate playing.
There's not much general advise to deckbuilding except make sure you get income fast enough, focus on one strategy and design your deck so you have good chances to draw what you need.

Re:any tips - 2008/07/20 04:43my mate uses that character ( asuning you mean tahrei namazoth) on me all the time. i have a lot of core boosters but have 12 exiled in the mail on the way to me. any tips on strategys good for the amarr would help. e.g. their strengths vs weaknesses, other deck stratagies- blood raiders tower + stain, i know, are their others like that?

Re:any tips - 2008/07/21 15:29A good strategy especially for beginner is the Empiric Tower, Patrol stratigy. When you flip yor tower all ships gain atk power boost equal to ther patrol value. All you need are lots of patrol ships. You can make a very fast deck because most ammar frigates have patrol an they are also really cheap. The weakness of this are all antifrigatte-cards. Another one uses the defense ability of the amarr. Amarr is the best faction to hold outerregions. The region Dam Torsad allows you to put one location from your deck diractly into play each turn. Arkoron and a ming 2 ship gives you 10 isk. With that mutch income you can easyly play heavy ships.

Re:any tips - 2008/07/26 21:42since you have a limited amount amount of card it doesent make any sense to tell you to include the ???? card. So i try to give you some advices: first: You have lots of locations with mieral value but no a single ship with mining. Itīs just a waste of materials. second: You have some big ships there and also some cheap ships. The balance is ok i guess. But you have always to think about how to get throu enemy defense. 2 Kastrels with ambush 4 each coluld cause serious damage to your fleet for example. Fix this weak spot with news or with ships that have Target Jam. My last advice for news: Itīs defficuld to decide witch news to take. Jou can only do this by game experince. Always think about... how many times do i use this card, or was this card really halpful during my last game, or could i take another news card for this one and so on. There was also an Article about how to choose cards for a deck or something like that this sowhere

Re:any tips - 2008/07/28 07:50rom already discussed locations and mining.
Stain... It only makes sense if you can control it quickly. This meaning 2nd (maybe 3rd) turn. I expect that to be difficult with that deck. One way to make it is Veldspar and a two ISK ship (like angel ambusher or burst) in your drawing hand. Another way would be Starchart+Scordite opening combo and a concord ship on your 2nd turn. That would even leave you one ISK for sisters/eve. Third option: Veldspar 1st turn and Scout + Sisters on 2nd turn.
news... You have a lot of 1's in there. While this is likely because you don't have more you have to ask yourself: Do I really want to gamble on actually getting it? You'll have roughly a 50% chance of getting the card during a game. You have one of damage control and proofread in there. That's ok because those form a family together with mind control where it's not all that important which Anti-News you get. Power Shortage and GravStorm are the same story. But still I would add one more if you have it... network access, forsaken ruins and emperors decree: Those are singles in numbers and effect. It's a gamble if you get it or not making your deck less consistent and more difficult to play and tweak. in an 58 card deck I'd add more or simply drop them.
If you can reliably control stain you could swap some news or mineral locations for a couple of Moon Harvesters (if you have them). After upgrading your tower that's reliable income...
With Stain you should consider tierijev pocket as it's relatively easy to defend as well but you already have insmother so you don't have to.
Definitely not EVE-Gate... Unless you really mean to win that way but then you need more redundancy in your cards. I don't see any reason for GGap either. you'd still have to defend it somehow and it's dependent on your opponent playing anti location cards. I'd rather have sansha's nation. Lonetrek is a good option too if you have assembly heavy ships.
All in all your deck is not bad considering you are building it from a somewhat small collection. And since your opponent probably builds from an equally small collection I'd say you're doing quite good.

Re:any tips - 2008/08/05 00:05admittedly my last amarr deck was a bit too difficult for me to work with so how about this one?
empiric tower
society of concious thought the khanid kingdom lonetrek
2 scordite 2 star chart enterprises (only have 2) 2 bastion of blood 2 sanshas scout outpost 2 pyroxeres 4 veldspar 1 hedbergite 1 concord regional (thinking abou swapping for another bastion)
1 trophy room 2 advanced shipyard
4 blood collector 4 impairor (has patrol thus can be used w/ upgraded starbase) 3 blood fugative 4 executioner 2 omen 1 blood templar
2 proofread 2 damage control 2 slave dog stowaways 2 power shortage 1 network access 1 forsaken ruins
1 tairei namazoth (thinking about tossing in another)
total of 52 cards includin starbase and regions. any opinions?

Re:any tips - 2008/08/05 10:04Without going into too much detail, this looks a lot more balanced than the last attempt, so well done.
Have a look at some of the other cheap ships usable by Amarr - the Atron is arguably one of the best frigates in the game, and should be an "auto-include x4". Crucifiers are handy wee ships too. Punishers are awesome also, and all these ships should work well with the Empiric Tower.
I would remove the Slave-dog Stowaways - i cant see why they're in this deck as you're not focusing on location manipulation really.
Also, Amarr absolutley excel at anti-News (they can use both Mind Control and Damage Control from the Core Set, as well as Exiled cards like Proofread). I would include at least x3 of the Core Set anti-News...============================ "There is always Hope...." - Elessar Telcontar ============================

Re:any tips - 2008/08/05 23:55thanx. i'll look up those ships in my collection, ( i think the punishers are a great idea). as for the slave dogs, they're only in their as my mate plays a lot of locations such as ray of matar, (upon reading the card last night saw that its effect only works in outers) so i'll probly trade the 2 of them for some exiled from the empires. i played wi th this deck last night and won but my mate was useing a huge and unrefined deck, so im still a little apprehensive now he knows the deck im using.

Re:any tips - 2008/08/12 09:30Just an additional note on using a deck that focuses a lot on Patrollers - if you have any, include a few Observatories. They uber-ise your home region patrollers, while the Empiric Tower does the same for attacking patrollers.============================ "There is always Hope...." - Elessar Telcontar ============================

Re:any tips - 2008/08/12 23:56i thought about includeing a couple but with this deck im trying to keep on the offensive, if it gets to the point where im defending, it probly means that my mate has overpowered my and is only a couple turns to victory. even with this do you still think they should be put in?

Re:any tips - 2008/08/13 09:43I've used them a lot before with decent results, and they provide a solid 'blanket' boost to your defence, which is always a good thing. Even if you intend to be on the offensive, good defence set-ups make your attack strategy more versatile, and it could mean that you could last a couple of extra rounds if your opponent has you on the ropes. As with any deck, it will only become apparent how effective any tweaks are thru playtesting or fishbowling...============================ "There is always Hope...." - Elessar Telcontar ============================
