Despite running more than a few demos, I still have yet to drum up enough players in my local area to run a league. So, I'm pretty much out of luck on that one.
To date, I've held off releasing my TableTalk application - honestly, I'm still not sure the interest in this game is enough to be worth taking on the burden of maintaining it. So, here's a chance to take a shot at two birds with one stone.
I'm proposing a Virtual League, to be run using TableTalk. If there is enough interest, then I'll finally finish the manual and get it out the door. If not, well... <shrug>
Although TableTalk has several tournament-related features such as side decking, it's not going to be completely possible to enforce every rule - some of the enforcement will have to be player integrity. There will also be very strict "Accept what the system does" rules - TableTalk is still a beta application, and I'm not going to argue with people over what happens in the case of a crash or other error. Given all that, I don't know if Zack will be willing to contribute prize support for the Virtual League. If he doesn't, I will do so personally, and match everything they give out to a regular league to the best of my ability.
Game time will be something of an issue, with the potentially international nature of the Virtual League. Start times will be as early as possible US time on Saturdays. Unfortunately for the Europeans among us, I have to be awake in case something breaks.
I'm crossposting this to get the most visibility. If you would be interested in participating in this, please respond to either thread. Once we see what the response level is, I'll make a decision to press forward with this or not.
