Attack and Defense (Home Region) - 2008/01/08 10:56 Hello !

I am sure this question was already post many times but i want to be sure.

Situation :

Me : Home Region with total defense 10 and 5 ships (5x 2/2)

Enemy : Attack with 5 ships with total power greater than 10 (5x 3/2)

1/ Does my enemy have to kill my ships before to deal damage to my starbase ?

2/ Could he target my starbase directly and then destroy it ?

3/ in that case, What are the role of defending ships in home region if they do not have ambush/patrol command ?
