When I draw a card from my scrapheap with Sansha's Nation, do I have to show it to my opponent?

Nowhere does it state that the scrapheap has to be face down when you do the randomizing. You can randomize with the throw of a dice, in which case each player can see which card is returned to hand. Turning the cards in the scrapheap face down and is just a more convenient way of randomizing and takes less time. It does not mean that the contents of the scrapheap become a secret at any point.
Since all players are allowed to see the contents of scrapheaps at all times, there is no reason why they shouldn't be shown which card was chosen at random.

Since the scrapheap is public knowledge, I don't think it is worth the hassle of denying my opponents knowledge of what card I've selected. I prefer an open playstyle like that.

The contents of the scrapheap is public information. Therefore the scrapheap should be visible at all times. Just because you choose to randomize it by turning it face down, doesn't mean that you get to keep it face down while you move the chosen card from the scrapheap to your hand. You must show your opponent which card was chosen at random.

While stated that you can choose any method to randomly pick a card from the scrapheap...there is nowhere that says you must reveal the card you drew. Fliping over the scrapheap and shuffling the cards, then taking a card from the middle somewhere is my prefered method. That way no one knows which card I received (even if the knew was was in my scrapheap), and I am under no obligation to show the card to anyone.
